We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this position plays an important role in supporting the Company’s financial operations and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of its financial reporting. Position Summary: The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the Company’s accounting operations and financial reporting activities while ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and corporate policies. This role leads the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, oversees balance sheet reconciliations and accounts payable operations, supports audit activities, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The Accounting Manager also plays a key role in driving continuous process improvements, supporting system enhancements, implementing automation initiatives, and strengthening operational efficiencies. As the Finance function continues to evolve, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to assume increasing responsibility, contribute to strategic initiatives, and support the ongoing development of the Accounting team. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and review journal entries supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes. Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner. Oversee and continuously improve accounts payable operations and vendor payment processes. Support revenue accounting activities, including the reconciliation and tracking of operational revenue streams. Prepare and review financial reporting schedules, supporting working papers, and analyses for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. Maintain and continuously improve accounting policies, processes, internal controls, and financial reporting procedures. Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and operational teams to ensure accounting results accurately reflect business activities. Lead continuous process improvements across Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O), financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounts payable workflows. Participate in the consolidation of financial information across multiple entities, where applicable. Prepare audit schedules and coordinate supporting documentation for internal and external audits. Lead or participate in accounting projects, ERP system enhancements, automation initiatives, and the implementation of new tools and technologies. Analyze financial information and present findings, recommendations, and process improvement opportunities to management. Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members, as assigned. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline. CPA designation or actively pursuing the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP), preferably in the intermediate to advanced stages. Minimum of two years of progressive accounting or finance experience. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting processes. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Experience working with ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) is considered an asset. Strong analytical, quantitative, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and recommend practical solutions. Ability to analyze financial information and communicate meaningful insights and recommendations. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Self-motivated with a proactive, continuous improvement mindset. Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Professionalism and sound judgment when interacting with internal and external stakeholders. High level of integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately. Legally entitled to work in Canada. Assets/ Nice-to-Haves: Previous supervisory, coaching, or mentoring experience within an accounting or finance team. Experience leading or participating in ERP implementations, accounting system migrations, financial system enhancements, or automation initiatives. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O). Experience with financial consolidations across multiple legal entities. Previous experience within the wholesale, distribution, manufacturing, or food industry. Working Hours: This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
