Job Summary The Quality Assurance Coordinator supports the day-to-day execution of the facility's food safety and quality management programs. This role works closely with the Production, Sanitation, Maintenance and FSQA teams to ensure that products, processes, and documentation meet company standards, customer requirements, GFSI certification requirements, and applicable CFIA regulations. Responsibilities +Support the implementation and maintenance of the site's food safety and quality management systems. +Monitor HACCP, Preventive Control Plan (PCP), GMP, sanitation, allergen, and prerequisite programs. +Verify CCP monitoring, review production records, and follow up on deviations and corrective actions. +Conduct routine production inspections, pre-operational inspections, and food safety verification activities. +Support compliance with CFIA regulations, SFCR requirements, and GFSI certification standards. +Assist with internal, customer, CFIA, and third-party audits. +Conducts sample and sensory evaluations. +Support environmental monitoring, microbiological testing, sanitation verification, and product quality programs. +Manage and document QA holds, non-conformances, customer complaints, and corrective actions. +Support traceability, mock recalls, and recall preparedness activities. +Assist with food safety, GMP, hygiene, and quality training. +Promote continuous improvement and a strong food safety culture across the facility. Qualifications +Post-secondary education in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, or a related field. +2+ years of experience in food safety, quality assurance or regulatory affairs in a food manufacturing environment (meat processing is an asset). +Knowledge of HACCP, GFSI-recognized standards (BRCGS is an asset), and CFIA/SFCR requirements. +Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines. +Excellent attention to details and strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. +Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. +Chinese speaking is considered an asset.
