We spontaneously chose this place for dinner. We were very pleasantly surprised by the tastiness of the food. We ordered the Beef and Broccoli Rice + Vegetable Tofu soup. The broccoli was beautifully cooked and the beef had an amazing flavour. The soup was light and each vegetable was fresh. With every bite you tasted a different vegetable. We are so glad made the choice to come here today.

My boyfriend and I are regulars at Mr Gaos after a little hiatus due to the pandemic. But they haven't lost their touch. We've been eating here for years, and love their chicken wings! The soups are delicious and hearty; they are a must-try. The veggies are cooked to perfection; we're particularly obsessed with the way they cook eggplant and Bok Choy 😍 very glad to be coming back

We needed to host a group of about 50 people, almost all Chinese and a lot from Toronto or Vancouver. After try some of the larger restaurants in town, my family decided their food wasn't good enough. I found Mr. Gao and decided to try it out. We were impressed by the food and decided to go with them. We pre-ordered and they handled 47 people at once smoothly. Everyone was happy with the food.

Delicious food! Try the garlic bok choy, sweet & sour pork, and the yu xiang pork rice! Priced very well too, with large portions

It was a great little restaurant. Food tasted very fresh and was quick to arrive at the table. This a great place to sit and order multiple items and share amongst the table. The wife and I went on a Sunday afternoon and is was a great experience. We sat and enjoyed our food and conversation with little distributions from the staff all will giving us great service. We will definitely stop in here again. Thanks for the great food and hospitality.

Great dishes, the portions were good! The lamb with cumin was my favourite dish, the lamb was soft and flavourful. The dishes we got were very comforting. Feels like home cooked food!

Went here all throughout my college days and always pop by when I’m in Hamilton. Easily best and most affordable Chinese food in this city. Highly recommend their house fried rice and their hot and sour soup!
