saku sushi

Went there for summerlicious. The restaurant is really nice and food was good too. Loved everything we had. Highly recommend the special rolls. Will definitely go back to try more sushi and rolls.

food was pretty good - we got the korokke, chorizo & fish taco, the Poseidon roll, and the Saku roll. the rolls were okay - decently good! the korokke was really good and so was the fish taco, but the chorizo tacos were lowkey a little mid. i did take a star off because it gave me intense diarrhea and really bad abdominal cramps at night. was crazy lolz

One of the best restaurants on this strip of queen west! Delicious sushi, classic izakaya offerings, unique fusion, and inventative dishes. Saku provides a wide range of menu items, specializing in sushi and tacos but also offering much more. Everything we've tried here has been delicious and price is reasonable considering the quality and care put into preparation. I love coming here for their happy hour which is one of my favorites in the city, and it happens every day from 9 to close. Service is friendly and the vibe is intimate yet lively, so great to come in a date or with friends. Highly, highly recommend!

Best place EVER. Not only was the food delicious and very fresh and tasty, but the service was excellent. I loved everything about it, the decor, the ambiance, the staff and the food. I ordered take out and ended up buying a few more things and we ended up staying. We went there by chance but we'll definitely be going back. You guys are AMAZING

We've been there a couple of times - will definitely keep coming back! Never expected a sushi place to have one of the best tacos. Great service and food is all we can ask for. A little but totally worth it.

BUTTERFLY ROLL almost sent me to heaven.. the aburi salmon was just the right level of torched and everything else in this roll was truly a harmony of flavours. the saku roll was also good!!!! rly liked the texture of tis one. my friends enjoyed the shrimp taco, yes it was good but not as good as the roll i’d say. + points for crunchy taco!!! but this was prob the best taco. fish taco was a classic, but i think cuz the butterfly roll n shrimp taco has such strong flavour profiles that we should’ve had the fish first cuz it was a lil less exciting. the beer on tap was soooo nice n cold. 💖💖 lastly shoutout to our server chloe she was so sweet !! even though it was her first few days on the job 🎀🎀 rly wish we ordered dessert too but we were too full oop

What a great spot! My friend and I were long overdue for a catchup and went to Saku for dinner. There were so many fun drinks to try on their cocktail menu. I went for the Yuzu Totoro and it had such a nice, balanced flavour! For starters, we got the Takowasabi. I was surprised it came with tortilla chips alongside the regular seaweed that I'm used to, but it worked! Then for mains, we shared the Chef Special Aburi Sushi, and because we were at a sushi + taco bar.. we had got our own tacos. We loved the Aburi Sushi! Each fish was so fresh and tasty, I could have had another 10 pieces. My friend got the crispy shell Camaron (Shrimp) while I got the soft shell Soy Garlic Tinga (Chicken). There was so much chicken in mine, I had to eat some of it first before I could properly hold it like a taco. If you get a soft shell, I highly recommend eating it promptly once it is served because we were talking for so long, the sauce soaked the shell and it crumbled in my hand. Oops! I'll definitely be back to try some of the other menu items! There were so many interesting options. Aside from food, our service was great. They were always checking in to make sure we had water for the table, and were happy to share recommendations. The restaurant itself was clean and I liked the decorations. When I first walked in, there was a strong perfume smell but luckily that faded quickly. I'll be back!

Have been coming back to Saku every couple months or so with my family. The food and atmosphere are absolutely fantastic. I genuinely love this place because it’s chic, but not pretentious. The food is consistently excellent. Great cocktails and sake list. Ice cold Sapporo beer. The service is always friendly and attentive. We will keep coming back! Probably my favourite regular in Toronto.

I haven't been to this restaurant before Covid, but apparently they were serving more "Japanese" food before switching to sushi and tacos, so it was a new experience for my sister and I. We got a bunch of items to share, but I'd only recommend the Atlantic Queen roll. It was really really good to the point I wish we got two instead of the Saku roll (which you would expect to be amazing bc it's the namesake roll but for some reason it just missed the mark). The tempura was good too, but you can get tempura anywhere. The Saku ceviche was also a miss as it was just sour fish without any other flavours. It also didn't even have mango as noted on the menu. Overall if I were to ever crave sushi and tacos, I'd just go to the Haam (which I think is a sister restaurant anyway?) bc the options are better there, although Saku is much roomier.
