This restaurant has been on our list for a long time. We absolutely LOVED it! Beyond lovely evening was spent here. Great service and the food was some of the best in the city in my opinion!

We tried the Beef Carpaccio (highly recommend), Grilled Sea Bream (not a big standout but still really good!), Confit Duck Pappardelle (very interesting and will order again), Foie Gras Parfait (very pretty presentation, we ordered it as part of appetizer), and Banana Cream Pie (we didn’t expect to eat it all since we’re so full, but it was really good). Each dish was perfectly prepared, with standout flavors like the chive aioli on the carpaccio and the rum caramel in the banana cream pie.
We opted for the Flight 199 mocktail, and the server thoughtfully split it into two glasses for us without being asked, enhancing our experience.
The ambiance is relaxed and the location is prime in Yorkville. The server was very helpful, providing all necessary menu details. They open at 5 PM, but note they don’t have happy hour like their downtown location. Overall, a wonderful evening with attentive service and delicious food. Highly recommended!

I really liked the food here, I found this better than what I had at Alo! The atmosphere was also great. Despite usually not really liking blue cheese I thought the Wedge salad was very yummy. The service here was also wonderful, people were friendly, however I felt we were checked up on during our meal a little too much. while I appreciate the service a lot, it was a little difficult to have conversation when there was a check up at least every 10-15 minutes or so.

Chef matt outdid himself. The halibut changed my life. Yellowtail sashimi was incredible too.

A Patrick Kriss restaurant has never let us down! The oysters were so good, we had to order a second half dozen. The atmosphere is lively, busy yet intimate. I’m also going on the record to say the Banana Cream Pie at Alobar Yorkville is the best dessert I’ve ever had in any restaurant. I’d come back for that alone!

Came here on the recommendation of a friend. And overall this did not disappoint.
My only gripe with the food is that it was too salty. Additionally for French Cuisine, it seems odd to serve a brioche style bread instead of a baguette.
Lobster wrap, beef carpaccio, and the duck paradelle were fantastic. The oysters I would have passed on as I've had better elsewhere.
Do not skip out on dessert 10/10!
Their cocktails are delicious.
Service was attentive and friendly. Ambiance is stellar.

Good food but you're definitely paying for it. I came for a business lunch, so even on the company dime I felt a pang of pain when I saw the bill. It is generally better than other restaurants open downtown during lunch time. However, I've been to Alo Restaurant, so I definitely had high expectations for Alobar.
We ordered two appetizers and three entrees amongst three people. I appreciated that the Chilled Lobster ($24) was split into three portions, despite the menu saying 2, as we had three people. We also ordered the Creekstone Beef Carpaccio ($28), which was definitely my preferred appetizer. The manchego on top was the perfect pairing.
For my entree, I had the asparagus salad with tuna added ($24 + $25). I actually really enjoyed this, but $59 is really steep for a salad. I also thought the tuna would somehow be incorporated in the dish, but it was just served on a plate on the side. My coworker, who got the sea bream ($48), was a bit disappointed as it didn't really feel like a main... It was literally a fish on a plate. I tried some and the taste was good, but it felt like it was missing something to be called an entree.
The star of the show were the cocktails. I loved my White Room ($18). The people I was dining with had the same comments about their beverages.
Overall, the service was good but a bit slow for a business lunch hour. The food was good, but expensive. I believe it was $330 before tax and tip. I probably would not be back but only because of the price.

Simply Canada’s best chef. The experience is more than just dinner, food, and drinks. Watching the team work in harmony is rather remarkable, with each staff member playing their role to perfection. The culinary artistry, coupled with impeccable service, makes for an unforgettable dining experience.

We were a group of 6. Wonderful location outside. The food was all delicious. The quality of the meat is excellent. The desserts are super yummy. Worth the 1 Michelin Star.
