We were in Toronto for four days and liked it so much we went TWICE during that time! The skewers are on the pricey side but everything else is awesome, try it yourself!

A good kushiage restaurant in the heart of Toronto's growing Little Tokyo. None of the offerings will blow you away but the hole in the wall flavors and literal buckets for seats adds a sense of authenticity to this otherwise average restaurant.

The taste was nothing special. But it was a nice experience. Personal think this is just the kind of place you try once. It does take a long time to get your food ready, so don’t go if you are extremely hungry. Though, the fired cheese was pretty good.

The skewers were good and the bbq eel roll topped with foie gras and caviar in purple rice was declious. The uni and aburi sushi was so so. The staff was friendly and the place has a casual vibe.

Excellent fried skweers, meat are very tender and juciy. The portion sizes are pretty big, their lunch bulid your special is only 10.99, I don't think you can any better deal around this area. The place is pretty cozy and decorated in a fun way too.

The sashimi here is off the charts, hands down the best I have had. Lots of variety of food. The owner is great, he spent time chatting and telling us about his experiences learning and cooking in Japan.

Small little place hidden on Edward St. and Bay St. feels real cozy inside with limited seating for around 30 people. The decor inside is easy to the eyes with manga style wallpapers throughout, the seats are actually re-purposed steel drums which is kind of neat to go along with their semi industrial look.
They seem to be the very few Japanese restaurants that specialize in Kushi style cuisine which instead of grilling the skewers they are rather deep fried. They offer a variety of different skewers from veggies to seafood. I myself prefer the grilled skewers over the deep fried versions. they also serve Udon, chicken or pork Katsu, and curries. The miso soup was quite tasty and has radish inside and the cabbage salad was good as well.
The meats were tender and juicy and veggies were cooked proper not soft and mushy. The home made sauces for dipping was awesome, the green tea salt was my favorite maybe because the skewers didn't have flavour.
service was good maybe because we were the only table.

What a not so hidden gem! Really enjoyed all the skewers that were part of this don! For sure will come back when I am on the area!

Great spot of you like things deep fried on a skewer. Oreos, cheese, vegetables and a variety of meat. Prices are fair as well.

Everything was so good!!! I highly recommend coming here if you ever get a chance. It is a little pricey but these are some of the best fried skewers I've had - even better than what I've had in Japan!! I also recommend getting the Jello Peach Sake shot if available. That was super fun to drink. The staff here were very nice and attentive and my friends and I had a fantastic time.
