Don't waste your time! Always call first. Never just go planning to just walk in and order. If you can't get anyone on the phone go somewhere else. Why? Not once but on 3 different occasions, they are closed with a sign on the door for all different reasons. After the second time, I double check their website and google listing to make sure they are open. Says they are open. Drive there and NOPE... Sign on door closed for 3 weeks!! They don't update their website or google listing. I like supporting small business but not small, mindless, inconsiderate operators. There are plenty of options, I now consider first.

Terrible planning by the staff. I ordered a small amount of food for Christmas eve for 4pm. When ordering, they warned me the wait might be 30min. I was in line outside and finally got my tray of cold fish at 5:45pm. The food was good though once we warmed it back up.

I have tried John's BBQ twice, and the chicken is good. I also appreciate calling in to place an order for pickup. However, I don't appreciate placing an order for pick up at a certain time and still having to wait in line for 10 minutes for people who are placing walk in orders. This defeats the purpose of me calling in ahead of time. There are other Portuguese restaurants in the community I'll be trying before I go back to John's.

We just grabbed the dinner deal,its half a chicken with rice and potatoes, its delicious, we also got half a lb of pork crackling, we ate it in the car park as they looked so delicious, and they were,we are big eaters and the portions are great,this is a hidden gem of a place...

John's bbq , what a great place for a serious great meal. The chicken and potato and rice are amazing. The taste , the flavor great. I ve been going g to this Portuguese bbq shop for years now, I highly recommend it to anyone that looking for great meal. The owners and staff are amazing.

Johns never dissapoints I've been going there for years now and it's exactly the same and always good food and great value. This time they were out of the tarts which was sad but I've never had that problem before.

John's BBQ never let's us down. It's a great place to pick up a chicken, rice and potatoes when you just don't know what to have for dinner. We have been going there for years and never had a bad meal yet. Highly recommend this hidden gem.

The BEST chicken, rice and potato's you can find in Oakville with the best service. The chicken is always flavourful and moist, and the extras offered on the weekends like grilled fish and BBQ pork are a HIT!

I prefer the grilled chicken and I get it spicy. Great price at $12 for half chicken with rice and potatoes. I would have given 5 star, but the service tends to be a little slow.
