Sugo

2nd time here - first time we ate the pizza too fast. Pro tip - once it comes to the table, wait 5 mins for it to cool so theirs more crunch and less flop. Honestly the pizza was 9-10/10. Phenomenal. Only issue was there wasn’t more! We got the Gigi. The dough is incredible, and toppings are fresh and high quality. For the atmosphere, love the design but the music was just a bit too loud that our party of 6 couldn’t hear it each other always. One of the best pizzas in Toronto. Mix of Neapolitan x New York style. Servers and hosts were very nice, especially guy with the hat who loves the Toronto maple leafs. Cheers

No resos here, pretty busy, waited 45 minutes, but service was great and friendly. The spaghetti bolognese was a bit too salty but the spaghetti texture was great, and tasted good!

My family enjoyed our first visit to Bar Sugo, we regularly visit Sugo but got the chef's table at Bar Sugo on our initial visit on a Sunday night. The kitchen staff are a well oiled machine, prepping food at breakneck speed with quality and care in mind. The Chefs table always gives you a unique view of a restaurant, it is a window to how a kitchen works, communicates and it gives you a front row seat to the daily demands on the kitchen staff. The hardwork of the kitchen staff is on display for all to observe. The food at Bar Sugo was the consistent quality we have come to expect from Sugo with a bit of a different flair, due to the pizza oven and the bar area. The staff as expected was friendly and cordial. As always I look forward to my return visit to the Sugo family of restaurants. As always Thanks to you all.

I came here with my buddy for a quick bite. Great spot in the neighborhood, the food we shared was fantastic and the atmosphere was stellar. We shared the burrata and the vesuvio's pizza with garlic dip. I'd return here

I'll admit, my expectations of Sugo were high. If I had visited their website first and seen that they serve Italian-American classics, my expectations would have been tempered. For an extremely busy location, we were fortunate to be seated immediately on our Friday evening visit. The service was very friendly, warm, and infused with a great sense of humor. Now, let's get to the food. For appetizers, we ordered the calamari, which had a cool twist, coming with fried sliced hot banana peppers, and an order of the stuffed peppers. The calamari was okay but definitely overpriced for the quality. The stuffed peppers didn't meet my expectations; they were pork and a bit too dense. Traditional Italian cooking often uses a triple meat mix, which I find yields better results. For mains, we ordered two pastas. Their house specialty, the rigatoni with a rosé sauce, was served hot and was nice but nothing you can't make at home. It could have been a bit more al dente. We also had the gnocchi, which was a little flat in flavor. We also tried a pizza. All pizzas are $30, and we chose the Vinny Massimo. The crust had a nice char, but something was off about the combination. The jalapenos were a bit too green; personally, I prefer sweet-hot jalapenos that have been pickled. The combination of the raw green jalapenos, pepperoni, and basil garlic sauce just didn't sit right. We had a Peroni and a Moretti, two Italian imported beers, and I found the prices very reasonable for Toronto. Here’s the kicker: Sugo is a fun, lively, albeit a bit loud place, great for a quick bite. The service is fantastic. However, I am not a fan of their policy of not accepting credit cards. I get it, they can be slightly more competitive in pricing, although their pricing was fair. Still, not accepting credit cards is a definite negative.

Not that they need this review, but maybe the warmest service I’ve ever had, solid food, solid ambience. The service is really unique, there’s something special happening in this place. The crew has a great culture, they’re happy, seem really close and they’re really warm and inviting, but also very attentive. I’ve been served by great crews before but the warmth here was different and very welcoming. I would come back here just on the service experience. Had the meatball to start, it and the sauce was seasoned well and melted in your mouth. The rigatoni was tops, the sauce in particular was amazing. The spaghetti bolognese and the veal parm were also very good. You should come if you haven’t been here and have the rigatoni.

Staff is very welcoming, and food is worth the wait - every single time. Recommend: 🥗🍞Starters: The Caesar salad, Burrata, Garlic bread 🍕Pizza: Uncle Scotty (so unique!), Little Italy *ask for dipping sauce (garlic + pesto are the best) 🍝Pasta: Gnocci and Rigatoni (delicious sauce) 🍮Dessert: Tiramisu

The 🍕 pizza was Fantastic The Chicken parm was Fantastic Great atmosphere and service No reservations though you gotta show up early to book your table.

I heard so many good things about this place so was compelled to try it. I dealt with Silvano on line and he was very professional and friendly. When I met him in person at the restaurant he was even more welcoming. There was a wait for sure but it was worth it. The restaurant is alive with happy diners. It has a great vibe. The salads were huge and delicious!! The pastas were delicious as were the stuffed peppers and chicken parmeggiana. But more outstanding was the service. Every single waiter or staff member was extremely friendly and available and made sure we were always taken care of. I would definitely go back!!!

We waited in line for almost 3 hours but let me tell you, it was definitely worth it! I appreciate you can write your name and contact number and roam around the area. There's tonnes of thrift stores around to explore while you wait and we did just that. Now for the food- we got the pesto and rose rigatoni and I'll be honest I do prefer some protein in my meals but I completely forgot about that while eating these! So creamy and SO MUCH FLAVOUR! I can't wait to go back! The service was also exceptional, our servers were super friendly and very funny too!
