Vietnam Lovely Noodle

My friend and I decided to try the rare beef phos here, the food was mediocre. When the bill came, we found out the waiter put our phos as two ingredients, with double rare beef. We are 100% sure that we didn't ask for extra beef, which supposed to be one ingredient. However, he added extra meat for us anyways, without even inquiring us. If you are going to put TWO ingredients anyways, why is there an option for ONE ingredient? Customers can decide themselves if they want more. This is such a dishonest and sneaky way to charge more from the customers, CHECK YOUR BILLS!!

Very disappointing. Wanted to like this place after seeing all the positive reviews. Ordered the seafood laksa noodle. The broth was a watered down curry broth, not the authentic laksa broth. Ingredients were cut back, only one shrimp and one mussel, see left pic. Lots of cheap imitation crab meat. There were other fillers like squid and fried tofu. When I pointed out that the cheaper priced Ton Yong Gong noodle soup had many shrimps, he had nothing to say. I did go on their website later and their picture of laksa noodle soup does show more shrimps and mussels. Left pic is the inedible dish that I left half eaten and right is from their website.

A quick scan of the restaurant got me thinking…crumbling Vietnamese eatery. The decor is falling apart. The server was overly attentive. He kept clearing the table while we were eating. I might not want to use the forks right away but it’s nice having one on standby to deal with the pork chop, chicken cutlets and rice. It was like every time I finished something he would come by and clear the table. Finished my cup of tea and instead of refilling my cup he took my cup away. Same with the spring rolls, left a whole roll on the table and went to the bathroom. When I came back gone it was cleared off the table. Surprised he didn’t clear my bowl of vermicelli too. Food isn’t lovely as they proclaim neither is the service.

Had a fry pork (lemongrass) with steam rice and veggies and that meal was delicious! Only downside was the bones on the meat but other than that it was lovely.

The food comes fast, affordable and the service was friendly. The problem is the bones in the meat. I ordered lemongrass pork on rice. The slices of meat had bones that were hard to see, so it was a surprise (and ouch! on my teeth). It can be very bad for a child or for an elderly. I strongly urge the owner to remove the bones in the strips of meat before serving it. Also, I wish the meat had more lemongrass taste/fragrance. There is competition for good Vietnamese food on Bloor St. so this owner will have to make some improvements.

Their Vietnamese fried rice is a must-try, complemented by mouthwatering fish cakes, spring rolls, Satay sticks and delicious lemongrass chicken.

Ordered pickup recently here - I would suggesst calling in and ordering if you are going to pickup, rather than ordering for pickup through an app. Great food, great location, amazing staff, I can't recommend this place enough!

Ordered the spicy shrimp and seafood laksa soup noodle. The shrimp was very flavourful with a nice crunch and light battering, and the laksa noodle had lots of seafood in but lacked some flavour. The server was sweet and attentive.

This place is fantastic. I wanted the beef brisket curry and asked beforehand if it was "soft" and "not chewy," the gentleman, who is always super nice, went to the back to confirm and said it's "sort of soft", I took that gamble and it was super tasty and the perfect "soft" with no "chew."Highly recommend. Me and my partner come here quite often for takeout and dine in and it's always consistent, tasty and has great service. Oh yea, thanks for the surprise shrimp chips today 😀

I travel from Ottawa to come here for the rare beef pho. It’s simply the best pho on the planet. The meat is so tender and freshly sliced. Broth is hot and delicious. Great atmosphere and service. Must eat here!
