This is the closest Captains Boil to our house. The staff is courteous and helpful, the atmosphere is nice and cozy and the food doesn't differ much in taste in comparison to other Captains Boil franchises in the GTA, but there is only thing that I can really complain about with this location... the shrimp. The shrimp is either not fresh or overcooked, it is consistently the mushiest shrimp I have ever eaten! When trying to peel the shrimp from this location, it disintegrates in your hands. The mussels and other seafood from here have no issues, seems like only the shrimp. I would recommend this place for anyone who loves seafood, but just avoid ordering the shrimp. Also, Captains Boil sauce on rice... drool!

It was our first time dining at Captain’s Boil however I will probably not visit again since got stomachache right after. Agreed to the other reviewer that the shrimp doesn’t taste fresh... not sure what exactly caused my stomachache though...

Went for a birthday dinner and it was a horrible experience. The lobster and crab tasted off. We ordered corn and the waitress came to us 30mins later to say the kitchen told her the corn was bad, when I finally got the broccoli it I had to send it back because it was cooked in the rotten corn water. Will never go back!

I went to this location a month ago for lunch. I wanted to order the sizzling plate with chicken but they ran out of chicken. Felt a bit disappointed, and I told them that I didn't want fish. They were willing to give me more seafood instead, which was very kind. Wanted to order oysters but they have only one kind which is not my type. Overall, not a great experience. Can't compare to other locations that I've been to (i.e. Scarborough, Richmond Hill). I still want to go back, but may give them a call before going there to make sure they will have what I want to order.

Food was good but my cup and cutlery was plastic throw away. Why would I not receive a metal spoon and a washable cup, especially since I stayed to eat? Too much throw away plastics and the server didn't seem to understand my concern.

I have been to this location 3 times and other locations many more. No matter which location I go to, I order my food with the Captians Boil sauce and I always get Fire. I also always ask for extra sauce and I do not mind paying extra for it. Every single time I have been to this location, the Fire sauce is so incredibly spicy, it is in no way consistent with any of the other locations and Medium is not spicy AT ALL. I never get extra sauce even when I ask for it. The last time they brought us our food, and no bibs or gloves until we asked for them. The sizzling plate combo also comes with WAY less chicken or fish compared to any other location. I had literally 4 tiny pices of chicken and my friend has to ASK for the teriyaki sauce for her fish when it is supposed to be included. I will not be coming back to this location. If you want a good experience, try the location in Vaughan!

Had 12 friends join me for my birthday tonight and I was completely embarassed restaurant was completely empty and it took forever to even get our drinks never mind our food. Our server only took our order and never checked in on us once throughout our meal :( our dinners came without our sides and 2 of us got our sides and had to wait 15 minutes for our bags of seafood one waited so long for her crab legs all of us were finished our meals. I was told our server wasnt only serving us but doing the cooking and making the drinks. Asked for wet wipes was told I could clean my hands at a cleaning station at the front door Im floored at our experience and would NEVER go back thier fish and chips tasted like it was frozen fish sticks

we have visited this restaurant twice and had three take outs. During the restaurant visits(newmarket), we had very pleasant experience. The food was good, people were friendly however, 2 out of three times the take outs made me and my husband very sick. We threw up all night and there was strong burning in our stomachs. We always order the same food. Fish and chips and rice with shrimps. There is something wrong either with the oil or the spicy sauce they use to coat rice and fries. This is the end of our Captain's Boil adventure. will never go or take out anything again.

Went here for Sunday lunch. Overall food tasted well, some odd portion sizes though. We ordered 3 crab and 2 shrimp. Anything that came with a side had a dramatic amount less of the protein. Not entirely fair, It doesn’t seem right to charge someone more for less protein. Logic would dictate that in the bag is an equal amount of protein, and since we are paying extra for a side, adding that to the bag? We were told “it’s weighed”. Speaking of sides, they didn’t have POTATOES. Seriously!? We were at the restaurant for 1, the place was absolutely empty.. but they had NO POTATOES. This plaza has a Metro a stone throw away from the place and you don’t have potatoes? Not impressed, to add insult to injury a kitchen worker left and came back with the single sack of potatoes as we were finishing up our meal. Something about this place feels off, almost like their skimping the portions on you. I personally loved the food, but I will NOT be dining at this particular location again. I spoke to the server and informed her that it was my fathers birthday, and not even a compliment on the house, or a well wish. Disappointed, the service was mediocre at best. Server seemed slightly disinterested, but nice when around the table. Customers pay ALOT to dine here, it’s upsetting that these establishments forget that.

So after trying the scarborough location and being with impressed with both quantity and taste decided to head over to the newmarket location. First up place was empty for a saturday should have been the first sign. Next up ordered a diet coke completely flat and watery. Ordered 2 lobsters 2 lb of shrimp and some other items. Food came out lobsters had no meat on them next the shrimp very small and absolutely mushy texture. So 200 dollars later i think that i got to walk the plank and robbed of my pieces of eight. Will i be back or recommend to friends arrrrrgh no
