Biff's Bistro

I visited many times. Used to be having great cozy vibe and excellent food. But now it is less satisfying with their food and service due to higher price. They used to serve free breads, but not anymore. The restaurant is okay, but I rather go somewhere else for same price.

*Listen, I've only given Biff's a 4/5 because I'm not comparing it to all other restaurants. This is definitely a top flight contender in Toronto that serves excellent food with great service. Classic French bistro with delicious food and excellent service. The portions were particularly generous. When you're comparing it to the top restaurants in the city does it have the best food, service or atmosphere? Maybe no. But I will definitely be adding it to my best of list. It's also particularly great for a downtown business lunch if you need something close to Union.

was treated to a birthday dinner by friends. we shared the no-brainer baked brie; my friends had the mushroom risotto and boeuf bourguignon while I had the trout: all quite lovely and plated in a persistently nouvelle cuisine style where exacting and seemingly austere portions are nicely contrasted by impressive textures and flavours. the one anomalous (dare we say 'unexpected') dish was dessert, which we all had: the rather unconvincing and non-descript tarte tatin. we all agreed it was 'interesting' and left it at that. great service, ambience etc.

Wonderful atmosphere and super friendly staff. Decorated like a resto in France and good music in the background to set the mood. We had sharables and mains. The oysters were delicious. For the most part food was good. If I had to make a suggestion, the consistency of the gnocchi could be a bit more squiggy. We were not asked how we wanted the duck breast cooked, we like rare, it came out medium to well done. As stated staff were super nice. It was busy, I understand that, but we waited 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order. The bar staff got them out so quick! If I could make another suggestion, have someone clear plates after appetizers, not just fill water, to help out the wait staff. I would go again.

Had lunch at this French joint. Food was great - loved the Coq au Vin, Steak Frites, and the Chicken Liver Pate. Quick service, nice staff, and a cool vibe inside. Good place for a quick bite on a workday. Edit: went there the second time. If it could give another 5-star review - I would. Well deserved.

Wonderful, no surprise but French food is amazing. I bought a charcuterie board 2 drinks and the bourguignon and it was $106+tip. So not easy on the waist or the purse, but I'll go back!

Good ‘safe’ place for a work lunch - something for mostly everyone, and tasty veggie options. We got the brie and the fig salad. Good portion sizes and full of flavour! Was fairly quiet for Wednesday lunch, and the vibe is slightly formal, but otherwise a great experience!

Great vibe to the place. The best resotto that I ever had. Ratatouille was delicious as well. Servers were very hospitable and took great care of our team of 15

Very enjoyable and homey restaurant. All dishes were perfectly cooked and presented. Staff were friendly and attentive. We were there to celebrate a family member's 81st birthday and they made her feel special as she has visited many times here. Thank you Biff's!!!
