Tried this restaurant for the first time. The layout of the restaurant is a bit odd as perhaps it’s below ground level. It’s not a big restaurant. The dim sum was ok but we ordered the lobster E-fu noodles and it was awful. That was also the most expensive dish. There was hardly any taste. And the noodles was over cooked. The air conditioning was also blasting cold air directly to us, so it was a bit uncomfortable. Good thing we had a sweater! Don’t think I’ll go back there.

We once had dim sum there with parents. When the bill came, we were too busy chatting, forgot to collect our $35 change and left. We went back 2 hours later. I was worried about how to explain it. But as soon I as mentioned it, they asked which table were we at. They gladly returned it without hassle. I also noticed the staff would if the group include any seniors and would offer more accessible seats. That is considerate.

Just okay dimsum. They charge you automatic 12% service gratuity so watch for that on your bill.

Dimm sum is average & plenty choices, but they add 12% service charge after tax(it's not fair) also lately the tea charge go up to $2.50/ea is crazy gone up 25%, specially when we've more than 10 persons+3children, why they charge the kids under 5 yrs.old for 2.50/tea charge, even the Mandarin buffet charge less for kids under 12 yrs.old The Peking duck is not juicy, deep fried chicken is so dry, but the dish presentation is good! Is there any VIP provide to the group for paying less tea charge, think about it, because it's just water, the group only order 2 kinds of tea flavour, is no way to pay high tea charge /ea. I know some restaurant only charge flat rate if 6 & up, think about it! When we've more than 10 persons, we'll hold our horses to go for dim sum, because have to pay expensive tea charge 🥴 then we'll pick other restaurant without fixed service charge & high tea charge🤔

⚠️⚠️⚠️CHECK YOUR BILL⚠️⚠️⚠️ The food is okay, but the service is terrible. Combos must be paid for in cash, and dishes from the regular menu are supposed to have a 10% discount if paid for in cash as well. However, they did not give us the discount, claiming that the Deep Fried Squid with Egg Yolk is considered seafood and only the beef rib qualifies for the discount. Despite this, they had already printed the receipt and said they couldn't make any adjustments. This excuse is ridiculous. They also added a fixed 12% tip to the bill, which we couldn't adjust. Although it’s not a large amount of money, it is still not right to overcharge customers. This kind of dishonesty and ignorance is unacceptable and cannot be tolerated. We definitely will not return.

Food is good, but the service made us lose our appetite. We followed the rules like everybody else getting our number and waited to get seated. However, when they reached our number, staff MayMay only gave us a few seconds window to respond and we were a few seconds too late. So she gave the table to the number after us and told us to wait due to our delay and that's fine with us. However, she made us wait more than 10 minutes and assigned tables to other people with no further response. So we went up to her for further inquiry and she angrily blamed us for not responding quick enough. Although we got our table, that really disgust me. Overall, even though the food and other staff are alright, we don't think we will be back as long as MayMay still works there.

Overall, the dishes taste better than expected - fish perfectly steamed with grrat tasting sauce, the sweet sour pork is the best among all the dishes, the hand-shredded chicken tastes yummy. Only complaint is their desserts (sweet soup - so watery and they gave us no plates nor forks for the cookies and 桂花糕）

We went for dim sum which is usually quite good here. However, the service was very poor, aggressively tried to sell us dishes we didn’t want, charged for a cup of water for our daughter, tea charge was exceptionally high, and they added a service charge without telling us.

Met a friend for early morning dim sum. It’s $5 for SML before 11:30am. I thought the portions were a good size. Food was 4 stars except the shrimp. the shrimp had that taste some of them plus the fish cake with the eggplant had it too. so I had a hard time eating it. I know most shrimp is farmed now so it is harder to find fresh tasting shrimp 😔 but I like shrimp dishes at dim sum. Anyways cash only for the deal. I didn’t take photos of everything. We had har gow, sui mai, chui chow dumplings, spinach shrimp dumplings, ha cheong, feung gau, bbq pork’s with sweet potting, eggplant & tofu. It worked out to $65. Oh yes I should say they do an auto tip of 12%. Better to go, my ha cheong didn’t have that weird taste so it’s always hit and miss with the shrimp these days. But the price was good for the 3 of us.

Lucky Seafood House is now soft opening. In case you wonder, wait a minute, Lucky? Isn't that sound similar to Double Lucky. Basically, Double Lucky relocated from the plaza across Markville Mall and moved to this new location at 7270 Woodbine Avenue and calling it the "Lucky Seafood House". Same culinary team, same ownership, same management, same great consistent taste. Our family luv this place coz of the authentic traditional Chinese food, good price and tasty food dishes, consistent quality and big portion and good prices. This resto is much bigger than its predecessor, new table cloth, new furniture, new utensils, new steaming dim sum baskets, clean and modern interior decor. So glad to see familiar faces such as the owner and Nelson and other hardworking staff. Although it's long driving distance from our house, but it's worth the drive to get our dim sum fix and great dinner meals here at Lucky Seafood House.
