Nami Restaurant

Nami is an outstanding Japanese restaurant. The food is some of the best Japanese, staff are friendly, and the atmosphere inside is really welcoming. Highly recommend for casual or business lunches.

1st time dining here and very impressed, we had Salmon, Eel, Octopus, Fatty Tuna, Wagyu beef, all were delicious. Staff are excellent, friendly and will ask chef if you don't see something on the menu, cold Sake was beautiful. There is some private seating areas off the one side but it's all about the food. We will be returning.

Very nice Japanese restaurant. The quality of the sashimi and sushi was excellent. Pricing was reasonable for a downtown location. We asked for a mixed sushi/sashimi platter which offered a good selection. Waitress was very good at taking group photos. Will come back to eat again.

Updated review: Now open til 3pm for lunch (2pm last call), yay!! Very pleased. Very warm environment. Have never had a single bad experience here whether dining alone or with others. Too bad they aren't open for lunch a wee bit later as I am a late lunch kinda girl. All of those times I have rushed to make it there at a reasonable time for them was worth it though!

I've recently been dining at restaurants I like to eat at (not Nami's) and recently had a rather unpleasant experience. Two individuals who were really uncomfortable to be around with. Both appeared to have too much alcohol in their bodies, and one of them began slapping another customer for no apparent reason. To my surprise, I later discovered that these two individuals were employees of the Nami restaurant. As someone who values ​​respect and good manners, I find it disconcerting that restaurant employees would behave in such a disorderly manner, especially when they are in the same industry. It is disappointing to see such a lack of professionalism and respect towards other customers and establishments. Given this experience, I cannot recommend dining at Nami Japanese Restaurant. If you value respect and a pleasant dining atmosphere, I suggest you look elsewhere. I hope you have time to apologize to the other customers who certainly didn't deserve it.

My all time fav Japanese restaurant in dt. Excellent service and ambiance. Highly recommend their sashimi, all sushi rolls/ nigiri, tempura and grilled meat. Even though it’s on a mid to high price point, it’s totally worth it ! ❤️❤️❤️

We celebrated my sisters 30th birthday and everyone was sooo accommodating! Our server was so kind and attentive and organized! She was amazing! The food was tasty and beautifully plated as well but I cannot ask for better service! Thank you guys for making this birthday a memorable one for my sis 💖

A must. Caring staff. Great execution on the food. A Toronto institution that merits a visit. We come weekly and have been treated like gold since our first visit many years ago! The booths are lovely and intimate. Far better value for the money than other high priced venues that we've gone to, as experienced sushi world travelers this is a cut above in the toronto urban sushi scene... if you care more about the food and enjoying time with your guest than putting on a show for shows sake.

Used to frequent Nami at least once a week a number of years ago and I've always raved about the quality of the sushi and the staff. That absolutely has not changed. The sushi is exemplary and the restaurant, including the staff, is impeccable and pleasant.... However, you need to bring a dense wallet. Since i used to frequent Nami the prices have soared. You are going to get great sushi but you are going to need to leave your first born behind to pay for it. The $$$ is the only reason i didn't give 5 stars. The place is fantastic but a nice dinner for two is going to be well north of $200 unless you're careful...in which case it might only be $150+ 🤷

Nami is a wonderful Japanese restaurant serving well made sushi and sashimi. The ambience and decor is put together really well and has great quality seafood. I've had the best shrimp tempura here and sushi rolls were amazing! Yakuza ice cream was also flavourful. I would come here again for the sushi rolls. Overall the menu is pricey but because of the great quality of food, I would say 4.5/5.
