Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts! This benny switched the english muffin with potato waffles that provide a creamier bite with a crisp texture on the edges and was surprisingly not too stodgy. Along with perfectly gooey eggs, rich hollandaise sauce, and burst of umami from the bacon makes this the perfect bite to start your weekend day.

Great food, really delicious. We had to wait nearly an hour for our food though. We get it as it was a Sunday and Mother's Day but the wait for food should have been communicated to us before we sat down. We don't mind waiting for good food (and the food is great) and we get that it's a busy spot, just a heads up would've been appreciated

This has been my favourite restaurant for about 9 years! Always amazing, very consistent and hasn't been beat as my favourite eggs Benedict EVER! The caramelized bacon with the perfectly fluffy mini waffle truly makes the Waffle Bennys unbeatable. The poached eggs is always perfectly done too! I have to stop myself from eating here too much because it would be too indulgent. I have also tried about half the menu and it's consistently good too (although again, nothing beats the waffle benny)

I’ll start off by saying the food itself wasn’t terrible. Wasn’t anything special, but not terrible. 1. Menu is misleading. A bunch of the menu items specify they come with “mini waffles” while others don’t specify anything. Apparently ALL of their waffles are mini except for the waffles made for the sandwiches. So when you order “1 waffle + fruit” that sounds like a very reasonably priced menu item, know that the single waffle is about the size of a 6-year old’s hand. 2. When you order a “Western” and don’t specify that you’re looking for a western waffle sandwich, normally I wouldn’t fault anyone for assuming you meant a western omelette. But at this place, where 90% of their food items are made with waffles, and the other 10% are buried at the back of the menu, you’d think that “western” implies the waffle sandwich and not the omelette. Or at least ask rather than assume. We didn’t even see western omelette since it was at the back of the menu. The restaurant was kind enough to fix the order, and on its own would probably not even be something I’d bring up (since they fixed it), but combined with everything else that was wrong, this is just one more thing to add. 3. When you ask if the chicken on the spicy chicken sandwich is breaded and you are told it is, you would expect it to be, right? Well not at this place. Not even a full cutlet but pieces of possibly pre-frozen chicken doused in hot sauce. I ate it without sending it back because we had already sent my wife’s western back to be remade. 4. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised anymore when a restaurant charges $2 to add a couple slices of tomato on a sandwich, but they should probably tell you of the added charge. 5. Sandwiches were good and filling (other than issues mentioned above), but would have been at least 50% better on good bread. In conclusion, probably decent if you’re in the mood for a dessert waffle (and don’t mind that waffles are mini unless it’s a sandwich). Also, no issues with the politeness of the server/staff, it was just a lack of communication and education on the menu. Edit: Just re-read this review and wow it makes me sound like a grumpy old man 😂Be careful… it just starts happening and you won’t even notice it!

Love the waffle bacon every time! The Benny waffles are always delicious. We keep going back for the food and service!

I had a great experience at The Starving Artist! This lowkey spot was an enjoyable brunch destination. I opted for the 4 Starving Waffles topped with Nutella and strawberries, accompanied with bacon and a side of hot chocolate. While the bacon was a tad salty, which wasn't ideal, everything else was pretty good. The waffles were fluffy, the Nutella and strawberries complemented each other perfectly, and the hot chocolate was rich and comforting. Our server was friendly and attentive, making sure our dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish. Their warm demeanor added to the inviting atmosphere of the restaurant. Overall, I would return to Starving Artist for another brunch.

Lates were pretty good and quite large which is awesome for the price. However I feel the salmon Benedict was a buzzkill. The flavour of salmon and waffle does not go together well. The spicy chicken waffle was not a hit with my friend. The salad is great and fresh, and the fruit is lovely. Hollandaise sauce was bang on what I wanted. I would only return here for the sweet waffles. Big fan of the art for sale on the walls and the neighborhood vibe to the place. It’s pretty sparse but inviting for artists to present their work. I plan to come here to promote my vocal coaching business and put a flyer on the wall. Thumbs up.

Great spot for brunch. Food and drinks were very tastey.

My favourite breakfast place, every single time I order the same breakfast dish. They are famous for their potato waffles and if you order one with hollandaise sauce you’ll be in food coma. So good definitely worth visiting 😊 To all the potato lovers out there

The place is so warm and cozy . There is beautiful art on the walls that you can buy as well. Ordered a Strawberry and banana waffle. So delicious I must say . Everyone working there were so welcoming and friendly. Definitely a 5 ⭐️
