This franchise used to be my go-to for ramen. For 2 years I have watched the quality go downhill.
First, it was the increase in price while simultaneously giving you a smaller bowl. Now, the quality of the food itself is garbage. the ramen is a watery mess with incompatible flavoured toppings (that were compatible before they cheaped out and changed them). The meat portion is half the size it was 2 years ago (2 lousy small slices of pork), the extra toppings are so small in portion size relative to the price, the broth is bad-- the list goes on. What was once a recommended ramen spot has become a shell of its former self.
These annoyances are company wide as I have noticed the same changes at the other Kintons in toronto, so this review is not specific to the church location.
Save yourself the disappointment and go elsewhere. There are (now) better spots for this price.

This is my second time coming to Kinton Ramen. There were no wait times and the service was great! We ended up getting the Beef Mazemen and Pork Miso. I would recommend going here if you’d like a quick meal, and to try out their summer specials!

Had two ramen in a row in two days here
Tried the signature Pork Spicy Garlic and Chicken Spicy Jalapeño
Both were very on point with tasteful soup base. Quality ramen base and both the pork and chicken were very tasty
Definitely one of the best I have had in Toronto and highly recommended.
The touch of garlic and jalapeño are very impressive respectively.

Hair on RAMEN!
It was my first time at this location with a friend, and I had barely touched my ramen when I noticed there was a hair strand in my ramen. I told the staff, they brought me a second one and guess what?! The second bowl also had hair. I was sooo disappointed and disgusted. The staff wears no hairnets, only a cap.💀💀😔😔I’ll never come back to any location.

Excellent service from staff. Very helpful in giving recommendations. I ordered the original pork ramen and it didn’t disappoint. Tastes delicious and generous portions. Would definitely go back when I have the chance.

I love this ramen. I get the spicy garlic pork ramen every time I go to a Kinton Ramen. It's delicious. Good spice level. It's not an aggressive heat. Just enough to open up your sinuses and coat your mouth with a mild numbing feeling. Super flavourful. I'd get this everyday if I could.
Pork Gyoza are the best. The crispy exterior. Spicec sauce. And savoury pork filling is delicious.
Good service. Great food. Can't go wrong.

Pretty good ramen and consistent flavours across the franchise locations but this location's servers are pretty cold. Nowhere near as friendly as other places like Sansotei and Ramen Raijin. Bright and clean location.

Kinton Ramen was established by Executive Chef Aki Urata May 2012 with the goal of bringing authentic Japanese ramen to Toronto, Canada. Chef Urata spent years perfecting his recipes and techniques, drawing on his extensive experience in traditional Japanese cooking to create a menu that would showcase the best of this beloved cuisine. The result was a unique and delicious dining experience that quickly became a hit among food lovers in the city.
Kinton Ramen is a restaurant that offers a unique blend of flavors and experiences. On my visit to the establishment, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant is known for its intimate setting, which is great for casual meals with friends. This particular evening, I had the chance to sample their signature Pork Original and two plates of the Aged Pork Gyoza.
To start with the food, I have to say that the texture of the Kinton Ramen noodles was spot on. They had a nice, firm texture that held up well in the broth. However, the soup broth itself was quite underwhelming. Typically, a shio broth is made with either a chicken or pork base and has a rich, flavorful taste. Unfortunately, the broth I tried had minimal flavoring and tasted more like saltwater than a seasoned broth.
On a positive note, the Aged Pork Gyoza was delicious. The pork filling is carefully seasoned with a blend of spices and allowed to age for several days, giving it a deeper, more complex flavour than other gyozas. It was also pan-fried to perfection, resulting in a crispy exterior and juicy, flavourful filling. It was not greasy, and the addition of the sweet chilly sauce was a great touch that added a burst of flavour.
The service was adequate, with friendly staff. The restaurant’s intimate setting creates an ideal environment for a quick bite with friends while enjoying a warm bowl of comfort food. The lower dining table I sat at, however, was not the most comfortable due to the lack of cushioning on the chairs. The fast-paced atmosphere was elevated by the upbeat music playing throughout the establishment, and the open kitchen was a bonus, providing a glimpse of the chefs in action. The restaurant also offers street parking for a fee.
Although I entered Kinton Ramen with high expectations, my experience was not exactly what I was hoping for. For the cost, there are definitely better options available that offer better quality and service. Nonetheless, I am still open to giving Kinton Ramen another chance in the near future to try their other ramen broths, as the Pork Original just was not my favourite.

Beef ramen🙆🏻♀️🙆🏻♀️🙆🏻♀️(tender beef. Clean flavourful soup without being greasy heavy. The noodle is too smooth/silky?, but love how thick and chewy it is
beef mazesoba 🙆🏻♀️(took out the arugula. The toppings mix really well together. Love the texture of the noodle but the alkaline taste is a bit too strong
Tsukemen 🙆🏻♀️🙆🏻♀️(really strong sesame oil aroma, the dipping sauce really compliments well. Noodle is nice texture as always and this time without the weird taste. Better if more meat
chicken cold noodle 🙆🏻♀️🙆🏻♀️🙆🏻♀️(the soup is wonderful. Refreshing. Chicken is meh

food is delicious, however the portions are not very big. Small tight space but nice interior.
