Place was a vibe. Great food. Good people. The Carbonara was my favourite dish. The salmon oshi was a runner up. Also. The Sapporo on tap with the mug. You won’t regret it.

I’m from Vancouver and travelled into Toronto. A friend took me this place, and I’ve had to come back for a second time on my own. Such a cool atmosphere and I love the shoeless dining area. The food is amazing. My favourite is the carbonara udon and any tuna dish!

One of the few places in Toronto usually able to accommodate a large (15ppl) group, last minute, without the need to be too quiet. The staff are 10/10, and definitely add to the atmosphere, especially the two servers we had on 04/12 (whoever they were, thank you!) Third time here for a birthday. Kinka doesn’t miss!

On par with other higher quality izakayas around Toronto, food was great! $30 for a pitcher of Sapporo that's brewed in Guelph is a bit much and the place looks like a big dinning hall rather than an izakaya, but those things will not prevent you from having a good time. Great place

Loved the place and food options. Ordered a bunch of dishes but felt a bit rushed because I thought izakayas are for slow ordering and drinking.

Big let down - the portions are really small and the daily special $24 tempura bowl literally had five meagre tempura pieces lol. Even for Toronto standards that’s a serious let down and not worth the money. Plenty of other good restaurants in the annex!

Beautiful environment, very delicious meals. Seems to be Japanese fusion with various other inspirations. One of our guests who is a picky eater and struggles with Japanese food had a fish and french-fries "Tokyo Fries" dish that they greatly enjoyed, as well as the Chicken Karage. One guest had a Korean-style Bibimbap with spicy curry. I had the chef's daily sashimi selection, and the fish was fresh and tasted great! With very nice plate presentation also. We all had different tastes, and everyone at our table was satisfied.
One of our guests had a food allergy and the server went to go check with the chefs for safety, it was no problem at all. Excellent.
They have Sapporo on tap, and neat cocktails. We did not try dessert because we were too full from dinner, but looking forward to trying some next time.
There is an upper raised floor for traditional (shoeless) Japanese-style dining with low tables, and there is a main floor area for western-style restaurant tables and chairs (with your shoes on). Both chopsticks and metal utensils are available depending what you need. The restrooms are gendered, but private/one-stall.
Overall it was a great experience recommended by a friend, we will definitely go again.

Food was good albeit expensive and can definitely find some better places in the area. Found the options were also limited although their rice soup dish was delicious. Will be back again maybe when it is quieter.

Really good food! The BBQ eel rice bowl was my favourite. It has a neat wooden interior, with a lively atmosphere.
