Not only was the food and atmosphere incredible, but the staff were so friendly and hospitable. I enjoyed this kaiseki better than the one I had in Kyoto! The food was so flavorful and delicious, the presentation looked like art, and the private room felt like we were transported to Japan. Kei (the chefs son) came to talk to us after the meal and it was clear our server remembered everything we told her and relayed the message. A truly memorable experience.

The food was amazing. Majority (I’d say all) ingredients are imported from Japan and very well prepared. What’s I like the most is the overall environment which can really make you feel like you are in Japan and experiencing the traditional kaiseiki dish. At the end the son of the owner explained to us their mission of why they open this place as well as recommended places to visit in the GTA if you like Japanese culture. A very good experience overall!

What an experience!!! From the moment you are greeted at the entrance to sitting in one of the three private rooms and getting to enjoy the 8 courses of Kaiseki dishes, it’s truly a phenomenal experience. Our host Kei, the son of the chef Hashimoto, was so informative and took his time to give us an extensive education about Kaiseki. We ended up staying for nearly 4 hours! My husband and I as newlyweds were gifted this dinner from my mom and dad. We feel so honored to have been able to enjoy this experience - not just for the delicious food, but for the insight into Japanese culture and traditions and how much Kei and his father respect Kaiseki. All in all a wonderful place to dine - go if you want something very unique that will give you a new perspective on the Japanese culture!

Kaiseki Yu-zen Hashimoto is always a wonderful experience. The team is warm and welcoming, the ambiance is great, and the food is unparalleled.

The environment and service are really great. It's my first time trying kaiseki cuisine, and it's a very nice experience. It's worth trying.

Had a delightful birthday dinner here last weekend. We were sat in a private room with a table for two, and the entire experience was impeccable. The Kaiseki experience from start to finish was extremely wonderful. The host was very welcoming and friendly and everything else - from the decor, the pacing of the meal, to the food itself - absolutely incredible. The dishes were all quite unique and beautifully presented, and were very delicious. More than anything, it was almost like being involved in a show, with the medium being the food. Kei-san came to speak with us after the meal and spent a good amount of time explaining things and answering questions. It made the experience even more memorable. He asked us to reach out if we find ourselves headed to Japan, so that he can connect us with Kaiseki establishments as well as lodging (will definitely take him up on it!). Overall, it was such a wonderful experience and I am very happy to have had the luxury of having partaken in it.

We were seated in a very private, quiet and cozy room with a large table, which I enjoyed. The staffs were extremely friendly and knowledgeable with every detail of the meal. One of the most unique experiences I’ve had in Toronto! The hospitality, food, and education of Kaiseki tells a story of passion and dedication to honour traditions. My favourite meal was the fish two ways (picture below). This dish is simple but full of flavour. Looking forward to come back!
